After the Lord Mayor Graham Latty hosted a Civic Reception for The Hunslet Clubs on going success and achievements, he was keen to come and see the club and the amazing work it does first hand.
On Wednesday 15th March 2019, he came to visit the club along with the Lady Mayoress and was pleased to meet our members and see some of the clubs activities in action! This included our Gymnastics session, Ballet, Youth Club, Boxing, Football and Rogues.
Our CEO Dennis Robbins gave them a tour of our club with one of our trustees Andrew Beadnall.
They got to see all of our education facilities and were surprised at just how much the club has to offer for young people and the opportunities available. They were pleased to see all of our vocational workshops that allow people to gain a hands on education as well as the classrooms.
Here is what the Lord Mayor Cllr Graham Latty had to say after his visit –
“Our visit was quite a revelation. We were hugely impressed with the scope, and variety of offers for the young members ; everything from ballet through to car and bike mechanics , plumbing and joinery to boxing, rugby and football. We had a lovely warm welcome and were shown absolutely everything and met many of the dedicated people who make this club the icon that it is.”
It was a lovely honour to have them with us for the evening and a pleasure to see our young members interacting with them.
