Opportunities

The Hunslet Club needs volunteers of all ages to help deliver its programme of activities for children and young people

Everyone leads busy lives these days and it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering are enormous to you, your family, and your community. The right match can help you find friends, reach out to the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career.

For young people and students volunteering is an excellent opportunity to learn, develop, increase knowledge and gain some real world experience. It can enhance your CV and help increase your confidence. Volunteering your services to help others is not just hugely satisfying; it can also teach you skills that are invaluable to potential employers.

We’re looking for enthusiastic people with a range of skills, talents and interests to work within a variety of roles within The Hunslet Club and with our young people. These include:

  • Sports Coaching (Football, boxing, rugby etc)
  • Gymnastics Coaching
  • Dance Coaching
  • Youth Club support
  • Activity Camp support
  • Canteen support
  • Helping out at Club events
  • Fundraising support
  • Bar work
  • General administration

Remember, you don’t need any specific skills or experience of working with young people to get involved – just a few spare hours each week and a desire to help young people make the most of their lives.

The Hunslet Club is committed to providing training and support for all our volunteers. Our induction and training programme includes safeguarding of young people, understanding equality & diversity and dealing with challenging behaviour

Don’t worry, you won’t be thrown in the deep end, you will also receive practical ‘on the job’ training to make sure you are fully integrated into The Hunslet Club team.

If you have any questions about becoming a volunteer for The Hunslet Club, please get in touch with Donna Hall, our Youth Development Manager on 0113 2716489 or by emailing dhall@hunsletclub.org.uk
